02 NOV 2007 RIP WITOLD 'VITEK' KIEŁTYKA (1984 – 2007)

"Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka – our brother and dearest friend succumbed to head injuries sustained after a bad van accident while on tour in Russia. He was 23.
One of the youngest and most promising drummers in the genre, together with Decapitated he has consistently released albums both crushing and invigorating in their musicianship.
Extremely talented – he has been involved in other side projects: Dies Irae, Panzer X.
He will be missed and can not be replaced.
The metal scene will be much sorrier with his passing… "

Decapitated Injured In Road Crash
Vitek and Covan (real name: Adrian Kowanek) were injured in an accident earlier in the week involving DECAPITATED's tour bus and a truck carrying wood in Gomel, on the Russia/Belarus border. Both musicians reportedly sustained serious head injuries in the collision, which is believed to have been the fault of the band's driver (although this has not yet been officially confirmed)."
Vitek was a huge inspiration to me. This is a great loss to the music world. Rest in peace.
01 NOV 2007 POSSIBLE APPEARANCE ON NINE INCH NAILS TRIBUTE!?
It seems that Pyractyc N-Axitcide may be making an appearance on a nine inch nails tribute release being put together by Deadknife Records. No word yet on when it will be released (probably sometime '08) and I also have no idea if this is gonna just be an internet release or actual physical product. I will be covering Ringfinger. Some of you may be familiar with a certain very old, very unfinished cover I did of this song. Don't worry, that version will not be used and I will be starting from scratch. Sometimes I screw around on a synth for a half-hour or so and record it. I then burn it to a cd and shelve it for a later date. This is the result of one of those sessions and I don't have a name for it yet, so right now it's called 16120C110A0E15. It's much less complex than usual, and the lyrics were part of a stack labeled "possible b-sides". Stuff I wouldn't put on an album, but not bad enough to disgard. Get it here!

Polish death-metal outfit Decapitated are stopping by the Launchpad June 12. They are headlining due to it being a tour off-date, so hopefully they can play longer than half an hour!

12 OCTOBER 2006 3:35 AM CHAIN REACTIONS
So Sociacide is coming along quite nicely. Unfortunately it has been temporarily placed on the back-
burner for now. It was supposed to be a short break as I worked on adding a few new peripherals to the
MAME setup (lightguns, steering wheel, etc.). Of course to accommodate these, I began to design a new
table which would be much longer and have the main control panel set into the table itself. I came across
some complications in the design so to pass the time until that was resolved I decided to streamline the
entire interface on the MAME pc. I wanted it to look a lot less like Windows and more like a custom arcade
OS, which was going quite well (involving active desktop html) but for some reason the html desktop links
opened applications without loading any of the configuration files with them. This is a big problem. So to
pass the time until that was resolved I decided to get the dual light guns working. For the most part they
indeed both work simultaneously, but apparently they are draining too much power from my powered hub
and keep disconnecting themselves. I read that this was common and adjusting some settings in the bios
could fix this. So I go messing around in the bios and before even finding the usb thing I make a mistake
and the computer no longer comes on. Luckily I should just have to do a cmos reset (scheduled for
tomorrow morning) but before continuing with all that I have a few more projects to finish that are more
time-sensitive. One being my Halloween costume which will be getting most of my attention (if it proves
doable), the other being a mini-MAME setup for my mom that needs to be done by Nov. 4 (her birthday).
After that comes two dvd projects, one for mom due by Christmas, the other for my good friend
Torrential due by winter break. So once I get all of my new
mame toys working, fix my table design, get the desktop working, fix the mame pc, finish my costume,
finish mom’s present and both dvd’s, hopefully I’ll get to start working on Sociacide again…

I'm not too familiar with any of the other bands (Six Feet Under, Krisiun, Abysmal Dawn) but I encourage anyone who
enjoys ultra-tight Polish death metal to at least check out Decapitated. Some of you will notice that this show
was originally supposed to be at the Compound but according to both the official
site and the Launchpad site, it's there now. So,
it's Sept. 19, tickets are $12, door open at 7pm!

For the first official non-PNA newspost, I recommend those of you in the Albuquerque area (probably all
of you in these baby stages of the site) should go see Behemoth at the Launchpad. These Polish death/black
metallers are taking there night off in between TX & AZ dates to put on a great show for us. If you like metal,
you won't be disappointed. Doors open at 7pm.
